…my uncle took my daughter for a ride in my grandpa’s truck this evening. As they were pulling away from the barn, I just broke down. I remember being her age and going over the same path time and time again…but it didn’t matter because I was with my grandpa. We’d listen to Conway Twitty (the tape is still in the truck somewhere too, apparently) and just drive around...

Twin girls, Brielle and Kyrie, were born 12 weeks ahead of their due date. Needing intensive care, they were placed in separate incubators. Kyrie began to gain weight and her health stabilized. But Brielle, born only 2 lbs, had trouble breathing, heart problems and other complications. She was not expected to live.
